Pergunta comum em entrevista de Node.js. A resposta abaixo está em inglês, do jeito que dá para falar numa entrevista: leia, feche e tente explicar com as suas palavras.
Handle expected failures near the operation with try/catch or promise rejection handling. An uncaughtException means normal execution is no longer safe. Record the failure, perform only necessary synchronous cleanup, and exit with a failure status. An external supervisor can restart the process.
Do not rely on asynchronous flushing after a fatal exception or keep accepting requests. uncaughtExceptionMonitor can observe the failure without overriding Node's default exit behavior. Unhandled rejection behavior also depends on Node's configured policy.
