SQS is a queue with polling consumers. Workers compete for messages, and visibility timeout coordinates in-flight processing. Delivery and ordering guarantees depend on standard or FIFO mode. Configure a dead-letter queue and retry policy explicitly when needed.
SNS publishes to subscriptions for fan-out, including delivery to separate SQS queues. Each queue can then have its own worker pool.
EventBridge routes events to targets through rules and integrations. Retry, retention, and optional replay behavior depend on configuration.
Choose based on consumers, delivery guarantees, filtering, recovery, and ordering. These services are complementary rather than interchangeable.
